For the first time, the Luxembourg Trade and Invest Partners were visiting the DMEA (Digital Medical Expertise and Applications) – Connecting digital health fair in Berlin, joined by 11 companies as well as hospitals and research institutes. The two-day programme on 9 and 10 April 2024 included networking opportunities with innovative companies at the Bavarian pavilion and with the Belgian partners of Flanders Investment & Trade, hub.brussels and imec.istart.
With more than 700 exhibitors and over 16.000 participants, DMEA is one of the most important events for digital health in Europe. The fair proposes an extensive program consisting of keynotes, lectures, panels, pitches, discussions, and workshops.
For the Luxembourg delegation, the first day concluded with a networking reception in the presence of representatives of the German healthcare industry at the Residence of the Luxembourg Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Mr. Jean-Paul Senninger. Guest speaker Dr. Anne Sophie Geier, Managing Director of the German Digital Healthcare Association, gave an overview of the current industry trends in Germany as well as European collaboration efforts. Her key thesis: “The promise of digital healthcare is no less than to democratize access to knowledge, empower patients and revolutionize the delivery of care – in Germany but also in every other European country.”
Trade fair visit participant Arianna Arienzo, founder and CEO of VoiceMed, testified that “DMEA trade fair helped me to validate my business model, being in contact with my potential target customers. The embassy networking reception was a good way to meet more players.”
Dr. Andreas Kremer, Co-founder and managing director of ITTM, confirmed that “the visit to DMEA with colleagues from the Luxembourg Healthtech ecosystem was a complete success on many levels. The fair is very important to us as it offers diverse opportunities for in-depth exchange and targeted networking in this area. In many discussions with industry partners, we were able to present the unique features that Luxembourg offers and we’re looking forward to the follow-ups. The supporting program organized by the Luxembourg Trade and Invest partners was exciting and interesting and opened further doors.”
The Luxembourg delegation was headed by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Ministry of the Economy and Luxinnovation's Healthtech Cluster.
The next edition of DMEA takes place from 08 to 10 April 2025 in Berlin.
