On Friday, September 29th, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel visited the House of Startups to explore the incubators and interact with startups, receiving an honorary welcome.
The Prime Minister was warmly greeted by the members of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Fernand Ernster (President Chamber of Commerce), Carlo Thill (President House of Startups), Carlo Thelen (Director General Chamber of Commerce), Marc Wagener( Director Entrepreneurship Chamber of Commerce), Philippe Linster (CEO House of Startups) and by Mrs. Lydie Polfer (DP), the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, and her team of aldermen, Simone Beissel (DP) and Maurice Bauer (CSV).
Philippe Linster led his prestigious guests through the premises and presented each incubator with its sector-specificities.
Bastien Berg, Responsible of the Luxembourg-City Incubator, warmly endorsed by Mrs Lydie Polfer, illustrated the variety of sectors represented in the incubator and introduced the pitches of Florian Feltes, CEO and co-founder of Zortify, and Charlotte Wirion and Imeshi Weerasinghe, co-founders of WEO.
Bending to what has now become a tradition, in the footsteps of other official visitors, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel signed the emblematic totems of the House of Startups.
Stephan Peters, CEO of the International Climate Finance Accelerator, greeted the Prime Minister and exposed the public-private partnership under the Luxembourg Climate Finance Strategy.
The visit continued with Le Village by CA, where CEO Amélie Madinier highlighted the shareholders’ commitment to the accelerator and presented founders Marzio Schena, Matteo Cernuschi, and Grégoire Mathonet from ANote Music as well as Jean-Yves Marié and Christophe Antoine of BIM-Y.
The official visit culminated with the meeting of Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology, and the many Fintech companies that have set up in Luxembourg to support and add to Luxembourg’s financial services Industry.
Georges Bock, CEO of Moniflo, and Rod Jordan, Head of Business Development of HQLAx had the opportunity to present their solutions to the Prime Minister.
During the entire visit, the Prime Minister engaged in insightful conversations with startup founders, learning about their groundbreaking ideas and the transformative impact they are making in various industries. His genuine interest and support for innovation were truly inspiring to witness.
Startups and Incubators expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for his memorable visit and for acknowledging the importance of startups in shaping the future of the Luxembourg economy.
Once again, the House of Startups demonstrated its mission in federating the startup ecosystem where a vibrant community connects and engages with key decision-makers.
