In order to meet the demand for a more personalized and patient-centered medicine and also to find solutions to reduce health expenditures, innovation in the biomedical technologies sector has been encouraged by the Government of Luxembourg. Indeed, this sector is considered as a significant economical motor in constant progress. The development of the eHealth technologies and telemedicine devices are key examples of this trend. In this context, standardization work is of crucial importance to go with the development of the biomedical technologies as standards help in guaranteeing the safety, effectiveness and compatibility of health products, software or services.
The National Standards Body, ILNAS, with the Chamber of Commerce and the Biohealth Cluster Luxinnovation, will organize a conference focused on standards in the biomedical technologies sector. It will be the occasion to present the results of the standards analysis of the biomedical technologies sector and to discuss about potential interests for the national stakeholders and opportunities opened for the national market. The conference will also be the opportunity to discuss on how to be active in the standardization process in Luxembourg.
