Second free delivery of antigen self-tests to businesses in the Horeca sector to support the gradual reopening of restaurants in complete safety

COVID-19

Covid-19

After a first free delivery of COVID-19 antigen self-tests to businesses in the horeca sector to support the gradual reopening of restaurants and the safe return of customers, the Government, the Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts and Horesca have announced a second free delivery of antigen self-tests. The collection vouchers will be delivered by mail to the head offices of the targeted companies, which can make an appointment via the QR code provided to collect the self-tests from Luxexpo The Box at the North Car Park.

In line with the government's strategy to prevent and fight the virus and in accordance with the ‘COVID law’ of 16 May, customers remaining inside an establishment in the restaurant and hospitality sector for consumption will have to present a negative PCR test that is maximum 72 hours old, a certified negative rapid test[1] less than 24 hours old, or a negative antigen self-test performed on site. Clients may wait for the test result outside, or inside the facility while wearing a mask. If the result is positive, the client will be asked to leave the premises, to self-isolate, to inform close contacts and to declare the result on www.covidtracing.public.lu.

Once the free sets have been used up, companies will have to purchase their own antigen self-tests. A list of recommended self-tests can be found at: https://covid19.public.lu/dam-assets/covid-19/documents/depistage/Liste-autotests.pdf

The aim of this joint approach is to ensure the health safety of clients and employees in the sector and to avoid situations that could lead to the transmission of the virus.

Two practical guides dedicated to the use of self-tests in companies and the assistance of the General Directorate for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises are available on the website of the Chamber of Commerce: https://www.cc.lu/services/publications/
