Grant Thornton announces the appointment of new partners

Grant Thornton has announced the appointment of 6 new partners across its audit, tax, advisory and financial services business lines in Luxembourg.

Vaida Gončiauskaitė has been appointed as Financial Services Partner and Authorised Director. With over 14 years of distinguished experience in the financial sector, she is recognised for guiding fund managers in ensuring seamless compliance with the rigorous regulations governing their Luxembourg-domiciled funds. She holds a BSc in Economics, is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA) and is a CAIA Charterholder.

Edouard Bubenicek has been appointed as Legal Partner, specialising in mergers & acquisitions, and corporate structuring and liquidation works of group companies, including funds, holdings and investment vehicles. Edouard holds a Master in International Business Law from University of Nancy and a Diploma in International Transactions from ICN Business School and he practiced as Avocat à la Cour for more than 10 years.

Martin Dewez has been appointed as Internal Audit Partner, leading the Business Risk Services practice. With more than 10 years of experience, he is specialised in internal audit services, governance, risk management and regulatory services, special attestation services, compliance with regulatory requirements and external quality assessment review. Martin is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from IIA and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA as well as an ISO27001 provisional auditor. He holds a Master in Banking & Asset Management (University of Liège (HEC).

Hakim Mezieche has been appointed as IT Audit Partner in the Internal Audit division. With over 15 years of experience, he holds an extensive experience in reviewing IT controls within the context of external and internal audits and in security governance. Hakim is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA by ISACA) and holds a Master’s degree in Business Studies.

Alessandro Niglio has been appointed as Valuation Partner. With more than 10 years of experience, he gained extensive expertise in private equity, venture capital, and fixed income instruments. Alessandro is Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Master’s degree in Finance from University of Naples Federico II. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a Member of Luxembourg Valuation Professionals Association (LVPA).

Alain Verbeken has been appointed as Tax - Financial Services Partner. With over 30 years of experience in tax services, his expertise includes tax advisory, operational tax services and tax structuring advice for the financial services industry in Luxembourg and abroad. Alain holds a Master’s degree in Law and a Special degree in Tax Law from the Free University of Brussels.
