In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Lex Delles, is strengthening support for businesses on the Letzshop.lu online sales platform. Along with 17 towns and municipalities across the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Luxembourg Trade Confederation (clc), Lex Delles has decided to cancel the annual subscription fee of up to EUR 500 for businesses on Letzshop.lu, as well as for those who would like to join the online sales platform. The General Directorate for Small and Medium-Sized Enterpriseshas allocated a budget to finance the membership fee for the year 2020.
The Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprisesstressed that ‘we must show solidarity and support businesses affected by the financial consequences associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. In these difficult times, it is important to provide financial relief to businesses and to encourage them to pursue a digital strategy. Thanks to the Letzshop.lu online sales platform, businesses can sell their products without exposing their employees or customers to potential danger due to physical proximity’.
Dan Biancalana, president of the Economc Interest Group (EIG), ‘Luxembourg for Shopping’, specified that the cancellation of the annual subscription fee supports the efforts carried out by the municipalities to help their local businesses who, in this period of crisis, can count on Letzshop's infrastructure and teams to provide access to the public through a modern, practical, and secure local marketplace for the customer.
