News entreprises

The Luxembourg Internet Days event is the unmissable opportunity for more than a thousand ICT, IT & OT professionals to come together to learn and exchange on the challenges of the Internet, its connectivity, its security and resilience.

A winning combination!

This year, once again, all the elements will come together to encourage discussions and meetings between professionals (decision-makers and professional users) of the Internet, cybersecurity and resilience, from all sectors.

Over the course of two days, the event will combine inspiring conferences, round tables and interactive workshops, as well as an exhibition bringing together 45 exhibitors.

More than 1,100 visitors, seasoned professionals, business or administrative decisionmakers, and elected officials and agents from the municipal sector will be expected to discuss questions of connectivity, Internet and network security, and ICT issues in general, to learn about trends in cyber-attacks and vulnerability exploitation and explore protection solutions together with the topic of their resilience. Two panel discussions dedicated to the NIS2 Directive will bring together experts and users to propose pragmatic “roadmaps” for the implementation of their compliance.

The event will be an opportunity to discover protection and resilience solutions, to strengthen proactive defence strategies and to consolidate the knowledge and skills of professionals working in critical infrastructures as well as in structures of all types and sizes.

New this year! On the new “Gemengen Dag”, the municipal sector will receive special attention on 20 November during a parallel event entirely dedicated to them.

Elected officials, IT professionals, heads of technical and IT services, advisors and other personnel from municipalities and municipal unions will be invited to participate in interactive presentations of practical and concrete solutions with testimonies from municipal sector agents for their IT management, their IT security and their obligation to comply with the NIS2 Directive.

This day will take place in French and Luxembourgish, and will be an opportunity for the municipal sector to take a step towards greater IT security, resistance and resilience.

Romania in the spotlight

In terms of cybersecurity, innovation is key. Romania, thanks to its dynamism and proactivity, will be the partner country for the 2024 edition and many actors, experts and personalities will travel for the occasion. Her Excellency Ms. Livia Rusu, Ambassador of Romania to Luxembourg will be accompanied by Mr. Dan Cîmpean, Director of the National Directorate of Cybersecurity of Romania, and the Director of the European Cybersecurity Competence Center (ECCC), Mr. Luca Tagliaretti.

Connectivity, DDoS attacks and Resilience

Because interactions with and on the Internet are everywhere, Network Security and Resilience are becoming essential for all sectors of activity.

Connectivity, DDoS (Denial of Service) attacks and IT Resilience will be the major themes of Luxembourg Internet Days 2024. Particular attention will also be paid to compliance with the NIS2 Directive, to help professional users of Internet-related technologies protect themselves against the risks linked to the occurrence of attacks, and to facilitate the continuity of activity.

“Because no company or municipality is immune from the maliciousness of cybercriminals, it is essential for all professionals to pay particular attention to the challenges linked to their use of ever more connected solutions. This considerably increases security challenges,” declares Frédérique Ulrich, the organizer of the event and Director of LU-CIX ASBL. “The Luxembourg Internet Days event is a privileged moment for exchanges between professionals from all sectors on the security and resilience issues that arise but also, and above all, on the solutions at their disposal.”

Many partners for the 11th edition

Supported by several ministries including the Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy Service (SMC) which is part of the Ministry of State, the Ministry of the Economy, as well as by the Ministry of Digitalization and the Ministry of Home Affairs for the “Gemengen Dag” sessions, the event is also supported by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, Cybersecurity Luxembourg, MyConnectivity and the Representation in Luxembourg of the European Commission.
