“It was a privilege to participate in the CYEL competition last year, which allowed me to compete in the CYE competition last week in Bruges,” says Tahereh. “Creating a positive social impact has always been a key motivation for my team and I, and JCI, who share a mutual mission, has helped us once again on our path. It means a lot to the Magrid team to have been chosen as winners and we are grateful for all the support and praise from those around us.”
Magrid is a Luxembourgish startup which delivers an effective and evidence-based pedagogical program for improving the development of early visual-spatial, cognitive and mathematical abilities for 3-9-year-olds. After winning CYEL 2021 in December last year, Tahereh and her team were provided a prize of €3,000 as well as mentorship and an opportunity to participate in CYE Europe by JCI.
JCI is a membership-based nonprofit organization of 145,000 young people ages 18 to 40 in 5,000 communities and more than 100 countries around the world. Each JCI Member shares the belief that in order to create lasting positive change, we must improve ourselves and the world around us. They seek targeted solutions to the unique problems in our communities to build a better world, creating global impact.
“JCI's mission is to provide young people with development opportunities that will enable them to create positive change,” says Flavien Houver, JCI Luxembourg 2022 President. “Our vision is to be the leading global network of young active citizens. Since 2007, JCI Luxembourg has been developing the Creative Young Entrepreneur (CYE) project on its territory to promote youth entrepreneurship. After several editions that saw the emergence of new stars, other national organizations are taking the example of Luxembourg to deploy the CYE on their territory. This year, Tahereh Pazouki, winner of the CYEL 2021, wins the 2022 edition of the CYE Europe at the European Conference in Bruges. A citizen of the world, carrying the humanistic values of our movement, she is an example for our generation.”
CYEL was created by JCI Luxembourg in 2007 to determine the most Creative Young Entrepreneur established in Luxembourg. Since then the award run every year but this is the first time the winner of CYEL also wins the European chapter of this competition.
“I am extremely proud of Tahereh’ success in wining this prestigious competition.” says Siva Bactavatchalou, CYEL 2022 Director. “I have known Tahereh since the beginning of her entrepreneurial journey as a very passionate young person capable of building great things. She is a real entrepreneur, a leader who aims to increase equal learning opportunities for children worldwide, just like JCI’s mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive changes. Today, Tahereh proves again her dedication and commitment to make a better world. On behalf of CYEL entire team, we congratulate Tahereh and Magrid on her marvellous success! CYEL acts as a bridge between the entrepreneurial/startups and corporate ecosytems, we are very grateful to CYEL past jury members and sponsors who helped us to select, inspire and galvanize our Luxembourgish startups.”
