Martine Kemp, Member of the European Parliament and Member of the Christian Social People's Party (CSV) in Luxembourg, visited the consulting company Drees & Sommer in Munsbach last Friday.

During her visit, Mrs Kemp was given an insight into Drees & Sommer’s onboarding policy, which includes several important phases and measures for the successful integration of new employees. This policy includes administrative preparations, the assignment of a mentor and the development of an international network of experts or peers from the initial phase. New employees take part in onboarding and networking meetings or seminars in a timely manner. At the midpoint of the probationary period, an interim review is held to document their personal contribution, creating a secure framework for them to stay with the company and grow. After the probationary period, there is an optional opportunity to take part in international exchange programmes, allowing them to experience positive challenges.
In addition, Martine Kemp was introduced to the wide range of offers provided by the company's internal training platform, the Dreso Academy, and the student board. The student board on MS Teams enables seamless communication and collaboration between students and the various departments of the company. It provides a centralised repository for documents, guidelines and procedures, supports online meetings and whiteboard annotations that can be recorded and automatically saved. This promotes efficiency and productivity by enabling students and employees to work together regardless of their location.
Martine Kemp expressed her support for improved onboarding and support for new workers and trainees: “In light of the new Traineeship Directive that will be discussed in the European Parliament in the coming weeks, it has been refreshing to see that there are companies based in Luxembourg that place the support of their new colleagues and trainees at the center of their efforts. This demonstrates both the importance and value of traineeships and serves as a good example of the direction we want to take for traineeships across the European Union.”
Michael Agostini, Senior Project Manager at Drees & Sommer and responsible for the supervision of students, added: “Our onboarding policy and the Dreso Academy offerings are designed to give new employees and students the best possible start. We are proud to serve as a best practice example and share our experiences with Mrs Kemp.”
Mrs Kemp's visit emphasises the importance of structured onboarding processes and continuous professional development for a company's success. Drees & Sommer gladly presents its approaches and successes in this area.
