The European Commission’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Office just launched a four-week consultation on future guidelines regarding two aspects of the AI Act:
✔ the AI system definition and
✔ the implementation of the provisions on prohibited AI practices under the AI Act.
According to the European Commission: "The legal concepts regarding the AI system definition and prohibited AI practices are established in the AI Act. This consultation seeks additional practical examples from stakeholders to feed into the guidelines and provide further clarity on practical aspects and use cases." It moreover explains that: “The guidelines will help national competent authorities as well as providers and deployers in complying with the AI Act’s rules (...) ahead of the application of the relevant provisions on 2 February 2025.”
This consultation is open until 11 December 2024 and companies wishing to participate may do so by filling in the dedicated questionnaire, accessible via this link.
