Quintet Private Bank, headquartered in Luxembourg and operating across Europe and the UK, announced today the launch of its Luxembourg-based Finnish Desk, staffed by a team of five experienced Finnish professionals who joined the firm this month.

Led by Quintet’s new Finnish team head Tero Gabrielsson – who most recently served as Managing Director & Head of Wealth Management Finland at Union Bancaire Privée in Luxembourg – this group of professionals brings to Quintet more than a century of collective experience meeting the needs of high net worth individuals and families from Finland and the wider Nordic region. All of them earlier served together at Union Bancaire Privée and, previously, at Danske Bank.

In joining Quintet, the Finnish team are reunited with Mads Midtgaard, their former Danske Bank colleague, who has served since 2021 as Market Head, Nordic International, at Quintet Luxembourg. In that capacity, Midtgaard leads a tight-knit team that has now expanded to 15 professionals focused on serving Nordic-domiciled clients and expatriates in Europe, including from Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Quintet intends to further grow that team over time.

In parallel, Quintet continues to expand its activities in Denmark via Quintet Danmark, the firm’s Copenhagen-headquartered branch that opened for business in 2020. Over the past five years, both Quintet Danmark and Quintet Luxembourg’s Nordic International business unit have recorded consistent year-on-year growth in clients, revenues and assets.

All of this is aligned with Quintet’s overall Nordic strategy, led by Ole Jensby, the firm’s Denmark-based Nordics CEO. Jensby, who initially joined the firm in Luxembourg in 2019, said: “With a population of some 5.5 million, including more than 100,000 millionaires, Finland is widely recognized as a European startup hub with a highly entrepreneurial culture.”

He added: “As we continue to pursue our ambitious Nordic growth strategy, both from the region and from Luxembourg, we are very pleased to welcome onboard our new Finnish team and to support them in introducing more Finnish individuals and families to Quintet.”

“I could not be happier to reunite with my former colleagues and look forward to working closely with them to further expand our Nordic growth horizons,” said Midtgaard. “While our Luxembourg-based Nordic International team comes from different parts of Europe’s far north, we share a commitment to always putting client needs first. That is how we will continue to grow this increasingly important part of Quintet’s business: one client at a time.”

“On behalf of the team, I would like to express my thanks to Ole and Mads for their confidence in us – and to everyone at Quintet for their warm welcome,” said Gabrielsson. “With a 75-year heritage here in Luxembourg, a presence spanning Europe and the UK, and powerful new partnerships with firms like BlackRock, Quintet stands out for its ability forge by deep personal relationships and extend holistic advice, founded upon a very strong client proposition. The team and I are excited about working with all our new colleagues, building new client relationships and contributing to Quintet’s sustained growth.”
