The Chamber of Commerce, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, the Luxembourg Embassy in Tokyo, the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office – Tokyo, Luxinnovation and the Luxembourg Space Agency, will organise an official trade mission to Tokyo from 10 -14 June 2024.

The delegation will be headed by H.R.H. the Crown Prince of Luxembourg and led by H.E. the Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Xavier Bettel, Minister of the Economy Lex Delles, and Carlo Thelen, CEO of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce.

As the world's 4th largest economy by nominal GDP, Japan boasts a highly developed and export-oriented economic landscape. Historically, Luxembourg and Japan have shared strong business ties, fostering synergies in trade and investment. The country is a major player in global trade and is renowned for its cutting-edge expertise which spans across Space, HealthTech, Robotics, Cybersecurity, AI and ICT.

Japan not only leads in innovative medical devices and treatments but also excels in developing intelligent robots and groundbreaking applications, thus shaping the global technological landscape.

Furthermore, the country has achieved significant milestones in space exploration, marked by notable achievements and contributions to the global aerospace industry. Japan’s collaboration with international space agencies and its investment in innovative satellite technology enhance its standing as a leading player in the sector.

The future of Japan’s economy thus promises an exciting blend of technological advancement and societal transformation.
