Companies shirk job agency when recruiting

Nearly three-quarters of vacancies filled in Luxembourg are not posted with the country's job agency, data published by the Labour Ministry shows.

Employers are obligated to post their vacancies with the Adem job centre, but few do so, according to numbers released by Labour Minister Georges Engel in answer to a parliamentary question on Monday.

Last year, employers posted close to 47,000 jobs with Adem, including temporary work. But over 154,000 job contracts were signed that same year. That means 73% of jobs were not posted with Adem. This share was down from 77% in 2020.
