By using the word foundation in its name, Idea was asserting its autonomy from its founder, the Chamber of Commerce. For its 10th anniversary, the Idea Foundation will be changing its legal status from that of a not-for-profit organisation to that of a charitable foundation. This change will reinforce its autonomy by diversifying its sources of funding.
