On April 3, 2025, the Digital Learning Hub hosted the fourth edition of TN’Teens, a flagship event of EschTechWeek dedicated to high school students passionate about technology and innovation. Held at the heart of the citizen innovation week, the event brought together nearly 300 students from across Luxembourg and the Greater Region for a full day of workshops, talks, and friendly competition in Esch-Belval.

A morning of exploration and hands-on learning
The day began with a series of fifteen thematic workshops led by TN’Teens partners and sponsors: Orange, Virtual Rangers, Luxembourg Tech School, CNPD, LALUX, Workshop4Me, Scienteens Lab, BEE Secure, Oracle, NSI, LuxProvide, High Jack, Christophe Bianco and Digital Learning Hub.
Artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, virtual reality, data collection and analysis, cryptography, fact-checking, conversational assistants, creative coding… These were just some of the topics explored through interactive, accessible, and engaging formats. The goal was clear: to give young participants the chance to experiment, build, and exchange with professionals eager to share their expertise in a hands-on and pedagogical way.
When the digital world is told without filters
The afternoon opened with welcoming words from Kamel Amroune, CEO of The Dots, followed by a speech from Bruno Cavaleiro, alderman for Youth of the City of Esch, who praised the commitment of the students and thanked the speakers.
The program then shifted to powerful moments that left a mark on the audience. YouTuber Le Roi des Rats captivated the room with a compelling talk on the dangers of social media, sharing real-life examples of scams and cyberbullying.
This was followed by the testimony of Florent Curtet, a former hacker turned ethical cybersecurity expert, and Pierre Penalba, police commander and author. Together, they retraced Florent’s atypical path, one that led him into cybercrime and eventually to his arrest by Pierre himself. Today, the two work side by side in the field of cybersecurity. Their story, soon to be adapted into a series, deeply resonated with the audience and opened a candid discussion on the risks and responsibilities of the digital age.
A grand finale: competition and a shower of prizes
As with every edition, the Big Quiz was a highly anticipated moment, bringing all the students together in a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie. After an initial round of questions based on the morning’s workshops and general knowledge, five finalists, all from Lycée Vauban, were selected.
Each finalist was paired with a mentor from Luxembourg’s tech ecosystem: Guillaume Tanferri (LuxProvide), Mathieu Debin (Orange), Eddy Nicolas (LALUX), Kadir Mutlu (AG2R La Mondiale), Raphaël Matte (NSI). After a second round in teams, two finalists faced off in the grand finale.
The winner, Hugo, along with his mentor Guillaume Tanferri, took home a PlayStation 5 sponsored by LALUX, an internship at LuxProvide, an ESET license, and a Fujifilm Instax camera offered by Xantor.
And that was just the beginning… Hugo and the other finalists also received an array of impressive prizes: smartwatches, JBL speakers, headphones, an iPad, Meta Quest 2 VR headsets, tech accessories, tickets to Francofolies and Kinepolis, software licenses… Generous rewards made possible thanks to the support of our partners and sponsors: LALUX, NSI, Xantor, LuxProvide, AG2R La Mondiale Épargne Patrimoniale, Francofolies, Kinepolis, One Way, Ville d’Esch, Orange, ESET, Oracle, and Youth Card Association.
