Stibbe strengthens Corporate, Employment and Tax practices with three Counsel appointments

Stibbe is proud to announce the promotions of Sophie Brenard (Corporate and M&A), Charlotte Mortiaux (Employment, Benefits and Pensions), and Christophe Martin-Raynaud (Tax) to Counsel, effective 1 January 2025. Sophie and Charlotte will continue to strengthen the Brussels office with their exceptional expertise, driving the growth of the Corporate and M&A and Employment, Benefits and Pensions practices. Christophe will play a key role in advancing the Luxembourg office, leveraging his extensive tax expertise to develop the firm’s tax offering. These appointments reflect Stibbe’s commitment to recognizing and advancing outstanding talent within the firm.

Sophie Bernard and Charlotte Mortiaux

Sophie Brenard joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2016 and has since built a strong reputation in corporate law, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions, financial regulatory and corporate governance matters. She advises clients on complex acquisitions, restructurings, and regulatory compliance challenges while representing them in courts. Working alongside partners Julien Bogaerts and Marc Fyon, Sophie will continue to support and grow Stibbe’s client base in Belgium (with a focus on the Brussels and Walloon regions) and abroad.

Charlotte Mortiaux started her career at the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2014. She specialises in all aspects of individual and collective employment law. Her expertise includes executive remuneration, industrial relations, and resolving complex employment disputes. In addition, she provides strategic advice on restructurings, including transfers of undertakings and collective dismissals, and represents clients before the Labour Tribunal and Labour Court. Together with partner Jérôme Aubertin, Charlotte will focus on further strengthening Stibbe’s employment law offering.

Christophe Martin-Raynaud started his journey with the Luxembourg office of Stibbe in 2019 and has quickly established himself as a highly regarded specialist in domestic and international tax law. His expertise spans structuring and transactional advice for a wide range of clients, including multinational corporations, financial institutions, and investment entities. Christophe’s technical knowledge and strategic insights have been pivotal in helping clients navigate complex tax challenges. Working closely with partner Johan Léonard, Christophe will continue to deliver innovative tax solutions and contribute to the growth of Stibbe’s tax practice.
