On 15 October 2020, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in close collaboration with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Luxembourg Branch, organised the ‘Export Luxembourgish Food & Beverages Products to China’ webinar. This webinar is part of the ‘Go International’ event series organised by the International Affairs team at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, and is also held in collaboration with the third edition of the ‘China International Import Expo (CIIE)’ fair that will be from 5 to 10 November 2020 in Shanghai.

Ms Cindy Tereba, Director of International Affairs at the Chamber of Commerce and Ms Wang Shun, Deputy General Manager of International Business Department, ICBC, opened the webinar from Luxembourg and Beijing. Afterwards, the Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg, Her Excellency Ms Yang Xiaorong, and the Consul General of Luxembourg in Shanghai and Executive Director of the Luxembourg Trade and Investment Office, Mr Vincent Hieff, greeted participants from Luxembourg and Shanghai, respectively.

After the introduction of the CIIE by Ms Li Zong, Deputy General Manager of Inclusive Finance Department ICBC, and Mr CHEN Fei, General Manager, ICBC Luxembourg Branch, three experts from Cargolux, Asialux and Jiangsu Han Tang International Trading shared with the audience their expertise on exporting wines and fresh goods to China as transporters, importer/exporters, and a trading agency.

Eight Luxembourg companies also pitched their products: Casa Grande, CWL, Domaine Henri Ruppert, Domaine Kox, Moulins de Kleinbettingen, Oak & Wine, Opyos Beverages and Trador, covering products such as wine, gin, liqueur, flour and related food and beverages products.

Besides 17 speakers, more than 85 participants connected to the 2 hour webinar via the online conference platform Zoom.

As part of this event, one B2B matchmaking session was organised on 23 September 2020. More tailor-made meetings will follow to bring together Chinese and Luxembourg companies.
