As of 6:00 PM

Chamber of Commerce

You are cordially invited to the Chamber of Commerce on February 6th 2020, 6:30pm, on the occasion of the St. Gallen Symposium Luxembourg Reception.

The St. Gallen Symposium stands for the most longstanding generational dialogue around the world. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, an intergenerational debate is held in Luxembourg, focusing on a topic that touches upon this year’s symposium theme ”Freedom Revisited” and its implications for Luxembourg.

We are honored to first welcome Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister of Luxembourg, for an opening address.

A panel discussion will follow on the topic “Small Country, Big Impact?”. It will address how small countries, in particular Luxembourg and Switzerland, may maximize their impact on the wider climate response, capitalizing on their comparative advantages. In a second part, and to strengthen the link with this year’s Symposium theme, the panelists will reflect on their definition of freedom in the light of the current environmental challenges.

We have the pleasure to welcome representatives of different sectors in Luxembourg on the panel:

  • Françoise Thoma, CEO Spuerkeess
  • Stéphane Pallage, Rector of the University of Luxembourg
  • Stefan Ruchti, Head Sustainability, Environment, Energy and Health at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs
  • Djuna Bernard, youngest member of the Parliament and Co-Chair of the Green Party

After the discussion, the guests are invited for an aperitif.

The reception will start at 6.30pm, you are welcome from 6pm.

We kindly ask you to sign up for this event on the following link: registration. More information on the topic can be found on the website as well.
