For the second time this year, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg participated in an international trade fair in Shanghai – the SAE-China Congress & Exhibition 2016, took place on 26-28 October 2016.
As the annual congress of automotive engineering and technical experts, SAE-China Congress & Exhibition gathers the latest technological achievements from China and abroad. SAECCE is also the only platform in China that focuses on exchanging and showcasing advanced automotive engineering technologies, it promotes the technical progress by displaying car bodies, key components, new technology solutions, as well as organizing conferences and workshops during 3 days.
With more than 10.000m2 exhibition area, gathered about 10,000 experts, the 2016 edition of the SAECCE focused on the “Technical Roadmap for Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicles” as detailed in the strategy of “China Manufacturing 2025”. The prevailing topics of the conferences were intelligent and connected vehicles, energy-saving and environmental protection, electric vehicles, lightweight materials and safety technology and how they fit into the development of the Chinese automotive industry.
The Ministry of the Economy, in close cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, organized the participation of the Luxembourg exhibitors. The modern and stylish national booth was also the stage for the Luxinnovation cluster “Automotive Components”, the initial promoter of the Luxembourg participation in this fair, together with IEE and CEBI, two Luxembourg companies who are already active in China.
According to Mr. Lei Fang, General Manager of CEBI China, the quality of the visitors at his stand corresponds to his expectation, even though it is Luxembourg’s first participation in this automotive industry’s gathering in Shanghai.
The Luxembourg exhibitors also used the occasion of the Luxembourg for Finance mission during the same week in China to meet HRH the Crown Prince Guillaume, and HE Mr Pierre Gramegna, Minister of Finance, in Shanghai. Some of them also prolonged this experience by attending the seminar ‘Luxembourg, China’s financial partner in Europe’ on October 27th, and had networking with over 100 delegates from the financial sector of Luxembourg.
