In its mission to support Luxembourg companies in their journey towards global success, the International Affairs of the Chamber of Commerce has launched a new series of seminars and webinars ”Navigating Global Markets”. Its aim is to explore key topics for a successful internationalisation and encourage companies to seize opportunities and mitigate risks in their development abroad.
The kick-off seminar “Elaborate & Implement your International Strategy” took place on 27 February 2025 with the objective of providing companies tips on how to identify the ideal market for their products or services and showcasing inspiring success stories of Luxembourg companies.
When planning a strategy to scale internationally, it is important to consider several crucial aspects, emphasised Panos Meintanis, Founder and CEO of dealsup.io and deelan.ai, in his keynote speech. While internationalisation is in Luxembourg’s DNA, it is essential for companies to identify the necessary resources and ensure they have a robust foundation in place before embarking on this journey. Furthermore, when analysing a target country or region, it is essential to understand its dynamics, and how a product or service fits into the market.
This was also the main message shared during the panel discussion gathering Luxembourg companies who have taken the internationalisation leap and are thriving abroad.
Veronique Ziliotto, Founder of ellan and Product Advisor, shared insights on the importance to sometimes adapt the product specifications or services when entering new markets. This can be crucial especially for products or technologies that are subject to regulation, which can vary significantly between countries, and can demand additional resources in terms of regulatory compliance.
Presenting their story, Charlotte Wirion, CTO & Co-Founder of the startup WEO, shared how their environmental analytics solutions were inherently scalable across the globe. For them, internationalisation was not just a goal to reach, but rather an integral part of their success. Targeting mainly to the B2G sector, their challenge lied in identifying the right opportunity within the public sector and leveraging funded projects like Horizon Europe and other competitive calls.
Christophe Timmermans, CEO of Solarcleano, narrated his experience of exporting their famous solar panel cleaning robots in more than 90 countries, demonstrating remarkable internationalisation success. For them, an important aspect to consider while going international is anticipating current and potential risks, such as those related to macroeconomics like tariffs or sanctions. Solarcleano has also benefited from the support of the Luxembourg institutional ecosystem in their internationalisation journey.
The seminar continued to present the initiatives and services available to Luxembourg companies, who can benefit from the support of an extensive network of partners for all their questions regarding internationalisation.
Conceived by the International Affairs in collaboration with its Luxembourg Trade & Invest partners, the GO International Gateway is a platform that regroups information and services including events, individual consultancy, financing opportunities, export formalities, public tenders opportunities, to name a few. The platform also offers companies the opportunity to book meetings with an array of thematic and country advisors.
Next event will be on financing opportunities for internationalisation, on 27 March 2025. Stay tuned!
